A loan of $875 helped to buy pea seed and fertilizers.

Benjamin's story

Benjamín, 62, is an enthusiastic man, married to Rosalía, 65. They have 4 children, of whom only one still lives with them, in their own home, which is made of rudimentary materials.

He has been a farmer for the last 18 years growing corn, potatoes and all kinds of vegetables that grow in this area with occasional help from his wife who, for the most part, is in charge of her household.

He does not complain about the hard work but he is bothered by having to lug the heavy sacks full of his products to market in the city even more so when prices of fertilizer, which he needs to improve crop yields, rise

As always, Benjamín is concerned with his family’s wellbeing as is shown in the photo where he is digging a drainage ditch for his house thereby improving his quality of life.

I time, he’d like to become good at raising guinea pigs and cattle because they are in high demand in the market.

This is his 9th loan with MFP and he hopes to meet his goals; he also wants to continue to work with his communal group because it’s composed of responsible persons.

He will use the 2500 new soles requested to buy several sacks of organic manure and fertilizers as well as a sack of pea seed.
