A loan of $1,050 helped buy fish.

Rosa Cristina's story

Rosa is a merchant. Her business is basically about buying and selling fish. She distributes it to important cities in the country like Manta and Guyayaquil. You could say that the business is strictly a family business. This interesting small businesswoman and her sister work day to day to get ahead.

She has been in the business for 15 years. Rosa learned from her father because he has also been in this business for many years. To get the business ahead, they make several systematic purchases. They invest between 400 and 500 dollars in each purchase. They stock up on the product directly in the port of Manta. Her sister sells in Quito. Her sister travels there to sell every so often depending on the sales and the demand in this great city. In each sale they earn approximately 100% of what they invested.

Rosa’s biggest dream is to be able to continue in her business. The money she is requesting is to be able to continue increasing her business. It is to offer the best to the consumers and vendors of the product.
