A loan of $525 helped buy fertilizer and hire three workers to clean and cultivate his banana and coffee fields.

Cesar's story

César, age 41, is a farmer. He shares his life with his wife, 41 year old Maritza, and their three children. They live in their own house, which is located in a tourist area in the central jungle of Perú.

He is proud of the work he does because he likes challenges and overcoming the adversities he finds along the way. That is why he has been growing citrus fruit, avocados, star fruit, and cocoa beans on his land for five years.

His wife helps him, and his children sometimes help with the work. This activity is profitable for him. Thanks to the earnings he gets, he is able to cover his children’s educational expenses. This is the most important thing to César because it is the best inheritance that he can leave them.

He has been able to buy two hectares of land, where he plans to plant coffee and bananas. That way he will be able to have better fruit production later on.

This is his fifth loan with MFP. He will use the loan to firm up his projects. He knows very well how his communal bank works. Therefore, he has promised to be in charge of the good development of this group. Meanwhile, he is requesting 1,500 PEN to buy several sacks of fertilizer. He will also contract the services of three workers to maintain and clean the land where he grows his crops.
