Mariposas Blancas Group's story

The Mariposas Blancas (White Butterflies) Group, represented by Mrs. Blanca, is composed of 10 members -- 6 women and 4 men, all residing in the same zone. Blanca is married – her husband is Rolando -- and she has 3 little ones who don't yet go to school. Blanca sells sillpancho (a local dish) from her home and attends customers every day. She lives in her in-law's house and her goal is to grow economically and acquire land in order to have more independence.

The remainder of the group is engaged in different activities. The majority sell cosmetics while others sell vegetables and meals. The men transport passengers as chauffeurs, or work as masons, or in shops as mechanics or making chaps.

The group generally has experience in the businesses they have and employ all their enthusiasm to get ahead. They don't worry about the competition, since they can count on loyal customers to buy their products.

The loan will be used to increase their operating capital, buying supplies, merchandise, and work tools. The group is new and their intentions are to continue working with our institution in order to grow and proviD. their families with a better quality of life.

In this group: Blanca, Vanessa, Julio Cesar, Carmen, Juan Jose, Gerarda, Claudia Cecilia*, Martha*, Richard Egberto, Mario
