Lepolo's story

This is Lepolo. She is 34 years old, married, and has two kids. Her business is weaving, and she is self-employed. She runs her business at her home. Lepolo has to wake up early every morning get her two kids ready for school. She then spends the rest of her day weaving.

She weaves mainly taovala, with both white and brown pandanus. When her taovala is finished and ready, Lepolo posts it in the internet, sell it at the local market, or sends it to her relatives overseas. She is a very good weaver. Most of her customers still hold on to her, due to her weaving technique.

This business has been her family's main source of income for more than five years. She is planning on using her loan money to buy pandanus for her weaving business.
