A loan helped to buy supplies for her taro root and banana business.

Vaotaua's story

Vaotaua is a 53-year-old mother of eight children. She runs a small business selling taro and bananas in her village to earn a living.

Vaotaua became a member of SPBD in 2011. She enjoys being a member of the program and even encourages other mothers to join the program to seek financing to develop their family businesses.

She requested a loan to buy a wheelbarrow, rake, shovel, water tank, gloves and more seedlings to help her run the business.

Vaotaua is very grateful for your support. Her dream is to one day have an export business.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
