Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Villa La Amistad Group's story

The Villa La Amistad group was formed on December 18th, 2008, thanks to the current general director, Candida Pérez. She made contact with the advisor during a weekly meeting taking place in the area to gather information regarding the work of the Committee of Entrepreneurial Women. Once she was informed about the program, she managed to gather together 15 women who are now working in a fourth cycle with the Committee of Entrepreneurial Women. They are very happy working in a united and supportive way.

All of them are very satisfied working with Kiva and the Fundación Paraguaya. They are engaged in activities in order to raise funds for the common good of the group. They are all very active, and they truly know how to work in a supportive way.

Gladys is one of the women. She makes and sells cleaning products. She buys the ingredients according to the orders she receives. She makes the products with help from her family.

She will use the loan she requested to get more ingredients. She will buy a greater quantity of ingredients and make more products to sell at other markets. That way she will improve her business.

In this group: Candida , Sonia, Nimia, Dorila, Galdys, Eva , Diana, Florencia, Arminda, Demetria, Aureliana, Zulma, Severiana, Jainta, Alba *
