A loan helped to buy vegetable seeds (cabbage, cucumber, eggplant), a wheelbarrow, rake, shovel, chemicals, spade, and back blower.

Mele's story

Mele is a 47-year-old woman with six children. She owns and operates a small business selling cabbage, cucumber, and eggplant in her village to earn a living. She put more effort in maintaining and improving the standard of her vegetable garden in order to produce better quality. She has been doing this for more than two years.

Mele needs a loan to buy vegetable seeds (cabbage, cucumber, eggplant), a wheelbarrow, rake, shovel, chemicals, spade, and back blower to help her with the business. She hopes to use her profit to expand her business. She joined SPBD in 2016.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
