Beverly Galarion Group's story

Beverly G. is from the village of Silongon, Tudela, Misamis Occidental. She is 47 years old and the leader of a five-member group loan offered by PMPC. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Beverly is married and has four school-aged children. She has a business raising crops, cultivating fruit trees and harvesting its fruit for sale. In 2006, Beverly joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Beverly has successfully repaid a previous loan of 14000 PHP from PMPC. This previous loan was used to to pay for services to increase crop yield. Beverly is requesting a new loan of 40000 PHP which will be used to invest in expanding the business. This loan will be the 10th loan taken out by Beverly from PMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand her business. About PMPC: Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC is one of the most progressive cooperatives in northwestern Mindanao.
