A loan of $200 helped to purchase more chicks for raising.

Josephine's story

Forty-seven-year-old Josephine C. believes that one day, her dream of making her backyard poultry-raising business stable will come true through the loans she can access through ASHI. Presently, she is requesting another loan, which she will be using as additional capital for her business. Her husband supports her desire for this because they both want their three children, whose ages range from 6 to 11 years old, to go to college in the future through her business profits in addition to the small income her husband is earning through his small fishing business.

After 45 days of raising, Josephine’s chickens will be sold to be slaughtered or sold alive to people around their village or sold to meat vendors in the public market.
