M. Ananius is a courteous and approachable married man of 56 years with six children, all going to school. He resides in Bikungu Cell of Rukungiri.
Ananius sells produce, principally rice, to his customers who are mostly traders who come from all over the area and some of them with trucks. He has been banking on this business for over twelve years and he is grateful that his business has been able to support him and his family.
However, Ananius has had to bear with a number of setbacks ranging from fluctuating prices, falling demand for rice sold in open markets to low yields from farmers. In a good period, though, when his business is booming, he notes that he can sell over 350 kilograms of rice a day.
With the loan that he is seeking from Kiva, he believes he will be able to buy more sacks of rice for his store.
