A loan of $550 helped purchase animals to raise and sell.

Jose Antonio's story

José Antonio is 18 years old. He is single and lives with his three siblings in his parents' home. Their home is located in the La Zaranda neighborhood which is a rural zone in the Pitio district in the Ferreñafe province, located 45 minutes from the city of Chiclayo.

For a year, José Antonio has dedicated himself to selling goats. He raises the small goats in the back of his home and during the day he lets them loose so that they can eat carob (carob trees are common in the area) in the dry forest that surround the area. He sells his animals to the merchants that visit the area. He uses his earnings from this business to pay for his personal expenses and to support his siblings' educational expenses.

José Antonio wants to expand his business by buying more animals to raise, feed and subsequently sell at a good price this is why he is requesting for the first time a loan from Edpyme Alternativa in the amount of 1500 nuevos soles (PEN) which he will use to meet his goal.

José Antonio is a very responsible young man that tries to get ahead and is always looking out for his own. His greatest hope is to become a prosperous and well known farmer in the area where he lives.
