Maria Cruz's story

María Cruz is 54 years old, separated and has two, independent children. She lives in the Reque district, which is 15 minutes from the city of Chiclayo.

She has had a small clothing and shoe store installed in her home for the last 5 years; she stocks items for women, men and children. The business produces income to meet family expenses but also allows her to feel active. The merchandise she sells she buys in Lima; she also works based on prior customer orders.

The business has been growing and she is now well-known in the area thanks to the quality of her stock and the good customer service she provides.

María Cruz wants to start to sell school uniforms and shoes taking advantage of the new school term that is about to start countrywide. She is asking Edpyme Alternativa for her first, 2000 new sol, loan for this reason.

Her greatest dream is to continue growing as a businesswoman and that her business becomes better known. She is held in high esteem by her neighbors, who consider her to be trustworthy and always willing to help those in need.
