A loan of $2,175 helped a member to purchase shoes, clothes and underwear to sell.

Cristo La Solucion Group's story

Dignora is the coordinator of her group Cristo L. Solucion (Christ the Solution), and her story is representative of her group and of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican (many of whom recently emigrated to the DR from Haiti) clients generally. Her group is located in the areas surrounding L. Romana, where the economy is based on sugarcane and where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home here in a simple structure with her long term partner and their three children. Dignora is excited to be taking her second loan from Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loan and grown her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business by traveling to the capital and purchasing pants, underwear and sandals to sell. She will use the profits to invest in her family by purchasing shoes for her children and saving towards the day when she can have her own store. She thanks you all for your support.

In this group: Dignora, Josefa, Baynaira, Carmen, Benua, Bartolo, Rosa, Perla, Cristiana, Alexandra
