Mrs. Im R. is a 49-year-old mother of five children and lives with her husband in Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. To supplement her household, she and three of her children work in their plot of farmland growing and selling sugar cane plants and cucumber which enables them to generate about $5.80 each day. Her husband, meanwhile, works as a construction worker and the rest of her children attend school. Mrs. Im R. has recently applied for a loan to purchase another plot of land to expand her crop that she expects to make additional profits for her household.
