A loan helped a member to buy a buffalo.

Nua Ngam 10 Group's story

Thien, 40, is a married Thai woman who lives with her father-in-law, husband and 2 grown children in a traditional Thai stilt house. Most of her family's income comes from agricultural production, but it is low and unstable. Her main hardship is the lack of capital to expand her animal husbandry.

This time, she has taken out a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to purchase a buffalo. The profit from this investment will be used to cover her children's tuition fees at university.

She hopes that her family will be out of poverty soon. In the picture, she stands first from the right.
