Motema Plus Group's story

Adeline M. is the manager of the group “Motema Plus,” which is made up of 25 members firmly united to receive loans from the MFI (micro-finance institution) and Kiva partner HOPE RDC in order to develop their businesses.

Adeline’s main business is selling second-hand clothes and eggs in her area. She has been a micro-entrepreneur since 1997. She likes her business and she is working hard to achieve her goal of one day opening a general store. She is a loyal client of HOPE RDC who has already received six different loans and has repaid them properly.

She intends to use the next loan to buy used clothes and some cartons of eggs to resell with the aim of increasing her profits. Each week, her business brings in a profit of $70.

Adeline is 37 years old and single. She has good relationships with her customers.
