A loan helped to buy fertilizers to expand her tea farm.

Rosemary's story

Rosemary (a 51-year-old mom of 3 children) is a farmer, living with her family in a remote village in Kerugoya.

Rosemary is devoted to her farming business, as it is the backbone of her family’s economic survival. She is proud of what she has gained from farming. The profits from her business have allowed her to earn independence and job security over the last few years.

Rosemary practices mixed farming. With her profits, she has managed to take care of her family's needs and to give her children a good education.

Rosemary is seeking a loan of 70,000 KES to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer, to expand her tea farm. She wants to reap more profits by taking advantage of her area's favorable weather patterns, the good road network in her village, the good soil, and a ready market for tea both locally and internationally.

Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva to help hardworking women like Rosemary make their farming dreams a reality through training and loan financing.

Please help this woman who has dreams and goals to achieve. Come on, make a loan, and Rosemary's life will feel worth living. Your loan will help a rural mum develop her tea farming business and secure her family's future.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
