A loan of $2,925 helped a member to buy more gasoline to sell.

Mata De Palma En Desarrollo 6, 7 Group's story

Amada is the coordinator of her group “Mata de Palma en Desarollo 6,7” (Palm Tree in Development), and her story is representative of her group and of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican clients generally (many of whom recently emigrated to the Dominican Republic from Haiti). Her group is located in the rural areas surrounding Hato Mayor, an agricultural area where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home there in a simple structure with her husband.

Amada is excited to be taking her sixth loan with Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loans and grown her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business selling gasoline (a necessary business in her rural community which is miles from the closest gas station) by purchasing more gasoline to sell.

Amada will use the profits to invest in her home by replacing the wooden walls with concrete block. She thanks you all for your support.
