Watfa is a 49 year old married woman with 2 children. When she got married 30 years ago, she started running a tailoring business from her home to earn more income for the family, in addition to being independent with her own business activity. She is well-known in the whole region due to the amount of experience she has in tailoring. She creates many different products, and also offers repairing services.
Today, Watfa is asking to borrow $1,000 to buy a new sewing machine to replace the used one, so that she can faster serve her clients and maintain her good reputation.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
