'Amelia's story

Meet 'Amelia. She is a 47-year-old mother of two and wife of a farmer from the Eastern area of Tongatapu. Both of her children are currently in school.

She is running a weaving business, which she does with a group of women in the neighborhood. They conduct the weaving almost every day, enabling them to weave lots of products and finish up fast. Before, 'Amelia used to weave on her own. But now she realizes how helpful it is to join a weaving group.

Her weaving is the main source of income for her family, for her husband does not work anymore. Both her kids' school fees and their daily living are all depending on her. She is hoping to use her loan money to buy more pandanus and also meet all the other requirements for her business. She is also practicing also tapa making. More business means more money.
