A loan helped to purchase a battery and repair her toto, a three-wheeled, battery-operated vehicle.

Benu's story

Benu is a 30-year-old married woman from the Alipurduar district of West Bengal. She has a family of 4 members. They have a monthly household income of INR 13,000, which barely lets them make ends meet.

They run a toto rickshaw business, using a three-wheeled, battery-operated vehicle. This is the only source of income for the family. Their toto needs repairing, but their low income can not cover the related costs. So Benu has taken a loan of INR 50,000 from BJS, one of Kiva's field partners. This amount will allow her to repair their toto and also buy a new battery for it. Thus they can expand their business and provide better services to their customers.

She and her family will be grateful for your support.
