Vhin Flores Group's story

This group is called Vhin Flores, in honor of a local teacher who was a social activist that achieved significant development within the community. Among his notable contributions are a middle school, and the Escuela Normal de Amilcingo [Amilcingo School of Pedagogy], located in Amilcingo, Temoac in the State of Morelos, Mexico. The group has 10 members and this is the fourth loan they have requested with CrediComun.

Petra N. C. is the group's treasurer. She's forty-two, with a middle school education. She has two children (a girl, 9, and a boy, 14), and has earned her living making traditional sweets since she was seventeen. She's been in business for twenty-five years, and now it's a family tradition.

She is requesting a loan so she can buy the ingredients she needs, such as peanuts, tamarind, candied sweet potato, and amaranth, which is still used in food for astronauts because of its nutritive properties. Her dream is to use the profits from her candy business to buy a window for her house, as well as an iron gate since she doesn't have one yet.
