Raydan is a 26-year-old single man. He lives with his parents and one brother. In 2007, he opened a phone shop after seeing a need for such services in his region. He sells mobiles phones, phone accessories and rechargeable cards, in addition to offering repair services. Raydan is a very punctual client; he chose to repay his first loan from Kiva early. He is now asking for a new loan of $1,500 in order to purchase the latest phone collections, phone accessories and rechargeable cards to fill his shop. He would like to do this prior to summer when tourism is high, because his area attracts many tourists and he wants to be ready.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
