A loan helped to buy bags of flour, yeast, baking trays, and dishes for her business.

Jenley's story

Jenley is a 61-year-old woman who is married and has three children. She and her family live in a rural community in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands. Jenley runs a small business of making and selling cakes, buns, and scones. She sells her products in her community and at the market to earn a living. Jenley has been in this business for two years.

She is requesting a loan to buy additional bags of flour, yeast, baking trays, and dishes so that she can continue running her business. Jenley plans to use her profits to pay her family’s weekly expenses and to grow her business. She joined SPBD in 2019 to gain access to financial services. This is her first loan.
