A loan of $725 helped purchase seeds, fertilizer and insecticide.

Nilda's story

Nilda is a 35-year-old humble and loving mother. She has been living with her husband Martin (age 37) and their two beloved children--to whom she wishes to give a better quality of life--in a rented home for 11 years.

Nilda's crop fields are located in the Patay settlement. Her produce is very good, which is why her potatoes, corn, carrots, and peas are very sought-after at the city's wholesale market, where she sells her crops as a street vendor.

What she likes most about her job is harvesting because she feels as if the months that she invested in caring for her crops give the eagerly awaited fruits of her labor. She has been in agriculture for 20 years, and she thinks that the most difficult thing for her is protecting her crops from any invading pests. In the future, she hopes to expand her fields and increase production.

This is Nilda's eighth loan with MFP. She has always been very punctual in making her repayments and is willing to continue with this behavior. She is a very joyful communal bank member who is always joking around with her fellow group members. With the 2,000.00 PEN that she is requesting, she will purchase pea seed, fertilizer and insecticide to improve her small farm.
