Rosa Elisea's story

Rosa Elisea M. R. is 56 years old and resides in the town of Soyapango, located in the Department of San Salvador. She is a single person who lives with her only daughter who is working. Rosa also lives with her three grandchildren (ages 10, 5, and 1), with the two oldest ones attending school.

Rosa is a hardworking woman who has always struggled to get ahead. She sells bread, cigarettes, soft drinks, candy, and other products. Thanks to her business she has been able to move forward along with her daughter and grandchildren. Her vending post is located outside of the largest commercial areas in Soyopango that has huge influx of people. Since this shopping center is expanding, Rosa wants to take advantage of this opportunity by starting another food business that her daughter will be responsible for managing. For this reason, she is requesting a loan to buy more products such as fruit, vegetables, basic grains, bread, beverages, and other items. This will allow her to meet the entire demand of this area, thereby generating more earnings to benefit her household.
