A loan helped a member to buy merchandise to sell, such as undergarments and cosmetics.

Gs Las Solidarias Group's story

Katherine is the mother of two children. She lives in the province of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic. Katherine works hard to support her family. For the past eight years, she has been managing her business of selling undergarments and cosmetics. The reason behind everything she does is to improve the lives of her children. Katherine had the opportunity to attend school, so she wants the same for her children and to see them graduate.

Someday, Katherine hopes to secure a plot of land on which she can build a house for her family. In order to do this, she needs to grow her business and her income. For this reason, Katherine needs a loan to buy merchandise to sell. She lives in a low-income community that has limited opportunities. With the help of a loan from the Kiva lenders, she will be able to improve her life and that of her family.
