A loan helped a member to buy merchandise for fabric dyeing.

Zg_Ressort. Kaguiites Group's story

This group is composed of six women living in the same neighborhood and maintaining strong ties. They have taken advantage of the opportunity to join the women’s’ association at its launch in March 2002. The group members mainly work as vendors selling miscellaneous products.

Ms. Rokhyatou, the one standing on the far right raising her hand in the photo, is the group representative. She is a widow, 47 years old and has eight children, including three daughters. All her children are or have been in school. Rokhyatou has been working dyeing fabric for a dozen years.

With this loan she plans to increase her stock of supplies. Once her fabric is ready she sells it at the local market.

Rokhyatou’s revenues will allow her to take care of everyday expenses as well as of education and healthcare cost for her children.

In this group: Rokhyatou, Aissatou T, Maimouna, Bintou , Marie Agnes, Ramatoulaye
