A loan helped to buy more raw materials for an expansion of the candy business.

Abner's story

Abner has been awarded twice as a young leader in Haiti. After studying accounting, he started his entrepreneurship career by processing a long-forgotten homemade candy on the local market. He has also launched a small company that makes a sweet candy. Abner is managing the company with four contractors after four years now.

Abner is now in need of a loan to buy more raw materials for an expansion of the candy business. As he has a larger stove, he is now able to boost his production. If he finds a new loan, he will be able to hire two people in order to launch a new brand product on the market. His profit margin is likely to be 20% more. Therefore, Abner counts on Kiva lenders to achieve this commercial objective as well as the social impact foreseen.

This loan is special because:

It provides small and growing businesses in Haiti with access to capital.
