A loan of $2,575 helped a member auto maintenance.

Mujeres Latinas Group's story

Zoila is 45 years old, married, and has four children, two small and two grown. She joined the “Latin Women” group 8 months ago, and in recognition of her good character, she was elected president. The group consists of 9 members living in the La Flor zone, Carabayllo district. Zoila’s business is renting out automobiles for taxi service. Five years ago, her husband inherited some land, which was sold to purchase her first car. With earnings from her taxi services, and by saving money little by little, she was able to buy her second car. Today, her taxi-rental business is sufficient to support her family, feel comfortable economically, and especially to pay for schooling for her two younger children. Her next goal is to purchase a third automobile, and she is working and saving towards that goal. The loan requested will be used for car maintenance, which is a requisite for providing taxi service in Lima.
