A loan of $550 helped purchase pea seed.

Hugo's story

Hugo is a 43-year-old man who is happily married to Rosinda, age 33. Together they have 5 children--2 teenagers and 3 younger ones. This family lives in their own house in the Central Peruvian Sierra.

For 4 years, Hugo has been cultivating peas and potatoes in his own crop fields. He has the help of his wife, and he will eventually have his children's help. This family is convinced that agriculture is the activity that allows them to both live comfortably and cover their general expenses. For this reason, Hugo would like to continue working with loans because this way, he can calmly take on his agricultural expenses and obtain a bigger income because the loans allow him to expand production. In the future, he plans to obtain more properties, which he will then hand over to his children so that they can generate their own income when they grow up.

This is his fourth loan with MFP, and he is grateful to all the people who make these loans possible, allowing him to make progress. He is also happy to work in his communal bank, which is comprised of responsible, punctual, and united people. With the 1,500.00 PEN that he is requesting, he will purchase two sacks of pea seed, thus taking advantage of the pea season.
