A loan of $725 helped to buy a display case for her products.

Hortencia's story

Hortencia, 60, has 7 children, 5 of whom are adults and live away from home, and 2 who are minors and still live with her and her husband in their still-unifinished house.

For the last 20 years she has sold beauty products while her husband has worked farming their farmlands. Together, they earn enough to meet basic family needs. Every day, after noon, Hortencia walks the long distances from house to house collecting her payments due and offering her products, catalgue in hand, for sale. She enjoys what she does very much and has very responsible customers which motivates her to continue with her work. However, her dream for the future is to sell clothes, since her customers have requested this, but she currently does not have a proper place to store clothing without it being damaged.

This is her 5th loan with MFP and she pledges to continue working with the same degree of honesty and responsibility as she has to date. She is happy to be part of a communal bank because all her fellow-members are very responsible people.

She will use the funds requested to buy a display case to keep and display her wares at home without them getting dusty.
