A loan helped to purchase more rice, red oil, onion and other items to sell.

Precious's story

Meet 29-year-old Precious from Liberia. She is living together with her partner along with three children. All of her children stay in school while living at home.

She deals in a business that sells rice, red oil, onion and other items. She has been in this business for the past seven years now. She works 15 hours per day and 6 days a week and has had no problem with her business.

Precious requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more rice, red oil, onion and other items to sell and grow her business.

She says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family and to educate her children. In the future she would like to continue sending her children to school and to become a big businesswoman.

She says thanks and sends appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
