A loan helped a member to purchase the ACE 1 energy system in order to have access to solar power for lighting, charging and cooking in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Lekhasi Group's story

Moliehi is a 38-year-old woman who lives in a two-bedroom house with three other family members including one child.

She works as a civil servant but struggles with buying multiple fuels. She spends the most amount of her energy expenses on paraffin, gas and electricity, which costs up to LSL 1000 per month. She also spends as much as one hour per day, gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging. The region this borrower lives in is very beautiful and she is glad that she will contribute to reduced local air pollution.

Moliehi and the other members of the group in this village each bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar powered.
