A loan of $550 helped to buy ingredients for her meals.

Evangelina's story

Evangelina, 61, lives with her husband in Paiján district, Ascope province, La Libertad region, which is two-and-a-half hours from the city of Chiclayo, Lambayeque region’s capital.

For over 10 years now she has sold food in a small stand located along the Pan-American Highway (the most important highway in the country; it goes through the city). She offers breakfasts and lunches (she also sells chicken soup) that are very popular with long-haul drivers.

This business has been very important to her family because it has made it possible for her to raise her children, all of whom are now independent. Her husband is an agricultural laborer for an agro industrial firm in the area. The money they both earn has allowed them to support themselves all this time.

Evangelina wants to enlarge her business, to buy more ingredients so that she can prepare more dishes. She is asking Edpyme Alternativa for a 1500 new sol loan that will help her reach this goal.

Evangelina is a hard-working, quite cheerful woman. Her greatest wish is to continue to grow as a businesswoman and to have a restaurant some day. She has collaborated with our institution previously and has demonstrated responsibility and punctuality with respect to repayment commitments.
