A loan of $150 helped purchase ingredients such as corn, lime, firewood and sweetcorn.

Vidalia's story

Vidalia G. R. makes a living making and selling popular regional dishes such as corn on the cob, maize pancakes and sweet tamales. She is requesting the loan to purchase ingredients such as corn, lime, firewood and sweetcorn because currently those products are expensive and she wants to stick with the business since it's her source of income. Vidalia started the business when she saw those kinds of products were in high demand, and since then she has dedicated herself daily to this work with the help of her daughters. She has had the business for 12 years and works every day from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. She hopes that with the loan she can increase her sales and expand her business to include selling tortillas as she does with the corn and tamales. Vidalia is married and has two school-age children who help her with the business daily. This is her seventh loan over the past four years, and the financing has had a positive effect in helping her improve her business and her income, and in one way or another helped her improve her quality of life.
