They call themselves "The Tulips" because they meet at a place where these plants grow. They all are from City of Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca and are all business people. Marina C. M. and Virginia sell chocolate milk in the village markets, Zulma R. sells refreshments at her home, Margarita R. L. sells natural food supplements, Julia P. and Sofia O. L. sell cosmetics from catalogs, Alma Rosa T. and Mayran Nallely E. sell books, Inez Lourdes A. and Virginia Inez R. M. sell candies in the terrace of a primary school, Justina Maxima C. and Lilia Elia C. C. sell snacks from their home (sopes (fried tortillas), gold tacos, enchiladas, tamales and empanadas (turnovers)).

Mrs Virginia Inez R. is the representative of the group. She is a single mother and has three children which financially depend on her since they are high school students. She works in the sale of sweets, it is convenient for her because the school is very close to her home and she feels that she can earn a good income. She dreams of her youngest son obtaining a professional career in addition to having a place to live. The loan will be invested in the purchase of fried items such as: fried potatoes, ingredients to make chicharron (cracklings), Salsa Bonatera (hot sauce), plastic bags, disposable plates, vegetable oil, and sweets. She notes that she know all the members of the group and that they are responsible people. They also are very grateful to the lenders from Kiva. The money from the loans through the Realidad Foundation gives them the opportunity to work and help support their families.
