Metztli Group's story

This group is called Metztli, whicn in Náhuatl means “moon.” It is in the Zaragoza neighborhood of Yautepec, Morelos. It has 10 members and it’s their second loan request from Credicomún.

Juana D. N., 55, is the group president. She has been married for 33 years and has 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. She sells catalogue cosmetics and will use the funds to fill all of her pending orders. She has done catalogue sales for 9 years. She started out selling bedspreads and sheets that she would sell in batches. For the last 6 years she has sold beauty products, mainly cosmetics.

Juanita (as she prefers to be called) is very grateful with the loans she has received because they have made it possible for her to earn extra income that she has used to help support her family’s economy, principally improving her children’s quality of life.

In addition, she plans to continue to invest in her business so that in the future she may even have a locale from which to sell her products.
