A loan of $1,125 helped to invest in butcher's shop equipment.

Elma Beatriz's story

Elma S. is 28 years old, widowed, and has a one year old son. She owns a butcher’s shop in Chimaltenango, lives in San Martin Jilotepeque, and travels everyday to her business. The butcher’s shop was previously managed by her husband, but he lost his life and now Elma attends to it and with time she has been able to get beyond the loss of her husband.

She is asking for a loan to buy a meat grinder with which to prepare various sausages. She had one before, but it no longer functions. Her dream is to grow her business and to own her own store, as at the moment she rents.
