A loan helped a member to purchase more goats and sheep to sell.

Abanyamurava Gaseke Group's story

Laurence is 50 years old and is a widow with two children. She sells goats and sheep to the community and this is her fifth year operating this business. Normally Laurence is organized and her business is known in the Gicumbi area where she lives, north of the country. She has seven years of experience and has one employee to help her.

Lack of enough capital prevents her from reaching her target of improving the business. That is why she has requested a loan, through VisionFund Rwanda, to purchase more goats and sheep to sell.

With any profits, she will be able to buy enough food for her children, to save for her future and to expand her business. Laurence said that she is happy to afford some basic needs and she is able to recruit an employee in the business in order to make a difference where she lives; because some people think that widows cannot achieve big things. She is a leader of ABANYAMURAVA GASEKE and in the picture she has some papers in her hands.
