Amanecer Palmapampa Group's story

Maribel’s Story

Maribel, 28 years old, is the single mother of a 5-year-old little boy. She belongs to the “Amanecer Palmapampa” group, made up of 14 members and led by her. She thinks that her group is very united, and there are 11 women and 3 men, responsible, punctual, and with a lot of desire to move forward for their family.

With the help of her parents, nine years ago she started with farming and harvesting cacao, bananas, and other citrus fruits. She has always liked to improve, and she has technical assistance. Her goal is to improve her produce. She is asking for her loan for the cacao crop. She wants to perform maintenance on her small farm, battle against that which ruins the produce, and avoid pests.

Her second job is day laborer, extra jobs on other parcels of land. With her extra income, she wants to build her house with quality materials.

In the future, she wants to increase her cacao production and buy more farmland in order to have a better quality of life. Maribel is considered a responsible, hardworking woman, dedicated to her proposed goals, and with a lot of desire to move forward with her son.
