A loan of $1,200 helped to buy notebooks.

Maura Colombia's story

Maura A., 38, lives in a periurban area of Fortín de Guayaquil; her house is cement and has all basic services. She is single and has no children.

Maura started out selling notebooks, pens and stationery supplies outside her home. When she had enough earnings, she invested in Gardens products (brand of natural products).

Now, she works every day from early on. She also bought a massage machine for her business. Sometimes she goes out into her neighborhood to sell her natural products but a difficulty she faces is pain in her legs when she walks.

She will use the funds to buy natural products and notebooks for her business.

In the future, she wants to have a better-stocked business so that she can help out her parents financially.
