A loan of $4,225 helped a member working capital to buy products to restock their businesses.

Las Dulces Group's story

Julia represents the communal bank "Las Dulces," which is made up of 16 members who all live in the same neighborhood. Julia has 2 school-aged children and recently her husband lost his job, and for this reason she saw the necessity of working. But she did not have any kind of experience, so she began to sell Avon, Esika, Yambal and other brand cosmetics through catalogs from her home, as well as at the school of her children and at private companies where she has gotten customers. Now her husband found work, but Julia wants to keep working to help her sons forge ahead with their education so they can have a better future. For this reason she needs capital to buy products to offer, and to bring appealing products directly to her customers.

The rest of her fellow bank members sell hamburgers, bread, meals, and cosmetics. The competition amongst the members is very difficult, especially in the areas of food sales and cosmetics, as each member hopes each day to have a good result with their sales. This loan will be used to restock their businesses with more products, so that they can offer better service to their customers and so that their businesses will provide higher incomes in the future and a better economic situation. As this is a new group, they have been given training, and they are very pleased and content to be clients of Agrocapital. Some of the members already have experience thanks to similar loans from other organizations.

In this group: Julia, Marisol, Andrez, Silvia, Maria Elena, Elda, Danny, Rutths, Tito, Ruth, Rossi, Marlene, Mirian, Yesenia, Carmen Diana, Maria Elva
