Rania is a 30-year-old married woman. A mother of two young children, she started working as a home-based hairdresser in 2004 to help her husband raise their children. Her occupation allows her to be useful to her family and she's happy with that.
Today, Rania is requesting to borrow $1,000 because she's planning to enlarge her business by buying more hairdressing tools and products requested by her clientele. In addition, she hopes that she will be able, in the coming months, to open her own hairdressing shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
