A loan helped to buy seeds and fertilizer to improve her horticultural farm and, as a repeat Kiva borrower, to increase her savings to educate her lovely children.

Nancy's story

Nancy, a mother of three children who was born in 1982, wakes up early every morning to attend to her farm. She lives in Kitale, Kenya, a town that hosts a number of elite athletes. Nancy adores her children and, despite the many challenges she has gone through, she has always provided good care for them. Two of her three children are currently in school. Nancy supports her family through mixed farming, work that she has practiced for more than ten years. She grows maize and also keeps dairy cows.

Although Nancy has been making profit through farming, not everything has been easy for this humble and industrious mother. Her farm has not been producing much of a harvest lately due to a lack of fertilizer and good seeds, and the presence of pests and disease. That is why she is seeking a loan to buy seeds and fertilizer to improve her horticultural farm. With the loan, Nancy will be assured of a better harvest, and this will translate into more profits and income. She wants what any parent would want for her children: a bright future.

You can support Nancy in making her dreams come true with a loan. Nancy really hopes for lenders' contributions and is looking forward to a warm response. Kindly lend to keep her beautiful smile!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
