A loan of $375 helped for mototaxi repair and service.

Consuelo's story

Consuelo, 38, is a single mother of two children. She lives with them in the José Leonardo Ortiz district, which is 5 minutes from the city of Chiclayo. This district is considered to be the second-most populated in the region but is is also considered to be the poorest.

Consuelo has a mototaxi (motorized, three-wheel vehicle used to transport passengers and cargo) which is her source of income. Her oldest son is the mototaxi driver; he covers routes within her district and in outlying areas. The continuous use of the vehicle requires that it be serviced often. This is the reason behind her requesting, for the first time, funds in the amount of 1000 new soles from Edpyme Alternativa.

She will use the funds to buy new seat covers and piston rings. Her dream is to be able to save enough money to buy another used mototaxi.

She is a woman that is quite dedicated to her family. Her neighbors and acquaintances all hold her in high regard and consider her to be a hard-working woman who always does her best to get ahead despite any difficulty that arises.
