A loan of $550 helped to buy vegetables.

Ursula's story

Ursula, 55, is married and has 5 children, who are all independent now; she lives with her husband in Monsefú district, which is 20 minutes from the city of Chiclayo. She has sold vegetables in Monsefú's wholesale food market for the past 18 years. Every day she offers a variety of fresh vegetables and tubers. This business is an important source of family income because her husband's earnings as a bricklayer are insufficient to cover all family expenses. Ursula can always count on her regular customers who prefer her for her kindness and good customer service. She is thinking of enlarging her business by stocking more merchandise but she needs an initial, 1500 new sol, loan from Edpyme Alternativa to do so. Ursula is quite a hard-working woman who is dedicated to her family. Her greatest wish is to continue to grow as a businesswoman and to make some improvements to her home.
