Sausales De Rio Seco Group's story

The communal association, "Sausales de Rio Seco," started from an active managing committee composed of three women: Teresa, Sonia, and Maria Juana. There are 8 members in the association: 7 women and 1 man. They conduct the following businesses: the sale of cosmetics, the sale of flowers, the purchase and sale of skirts, the sale of clothing and other seasonal products. The president, Maria Juana Q., whom is 35 years old and married with one son, sells blankets at the Zona 16 de julio Fair. The Zona 16 de julio Fair is the largest of its kind in the city of El Alto. It extends down all of the streets and avenues of the area on Thursdays and Sundays, from really early in the morning until sunset. Maria Juana Q. buys the blankets and plastic flowers that she sells from the city of Oruro. She has been traveling to Chile these past three months.
