A loan of $700 helped to buy school supplies to increase her business during the school seasons.

Maria Dignidad's story

Maria Dignidad, 35, is married and lives with her husband and their 3 children in San Luis, a small village in the rural area of Monsefú district, located 30 minutes from the city of Chiclayo.

For 5 years she has had a small shop in her house where she offers her customers basic necessities, groceries and drinks. She established this business with money that her husband was giving her monthly to invest in the home. She started out selling a small number of products, but later the business grew and now it is a stable business.

The business is well-accepted by neighbors and customers, since Maria Dignidad offers them good deals and because she makes her consumer products available daily. In this neighborhood there is not a market close by, so businesses like hers are of vital importance to the community.

Maria Dignidad wants to increase her business, buying school supplies to offer during the current school season. For this reason she has requested a loan from Edpyme Alternativa for 2,000 Peruvian soles that will help her to achieve this goal.

She is a woman who is charismatic and hardworking. Her neighbors and customers hold her in high esteem, since they consider her to be an honest person who always helps those in need.
